4.5.2 Fire resistance - Walls
The high fire resistance of Aircrete makes it suitable for firewalls with fire resistance performance depending on the thickness.

Design of fire resistant walls should include consideration of the junctions between the wall and other parts of the structure so the fire resistance provided by the Aircrete wall is not reduced.

4.5.3 Fire resistance - Floors
Fire resistance values for beam and Aircrete block floors should be obtained from the precast beam manufacturers.

4.6 Moisture
4.6.1 Rain

The map indicates categories of exposure to wind driven rain in the various parts of the UK. Since such data is variable, the definitions of the exposure categories overlap and a range of indices are recommended for each category.

Although the Severe and Very Severe categories apply to much of the West of Scotland and Wales for example, the exposure rating also takes account of local features which afford protection to a building.
