Aircrete's Thin Layer Masonry system, which has already been widely
hailed by builders and developers for its ease of use and time saving benefits, has now been
accepted by the Housing Corporation as a Modern Method of Construction (MMC).
The APA, has produced a factsheet, which is explains how Aircrete, which has
been around for over 50 years, continues to be applied in new ways and is widely regarded
as a modern construction material, and answers the Government's call to encourage the use
of innovative building techniques and materials.
Builders are being encouraged to adopt MMCs for commercial, environmental and economical
reasons, and in the housebuilding sector use of Aircrete's Thin Layer System has proved
beneficial in a number of ways. For example, because it is one of the simplest construction
methods to learn, it helping to overcome the skills shortage. It is a proven cost effective
solution, and faster construction times are proven. It is also energy efficient, has better
acoustic performance than many other products and uses sustainable materials, all helping to
make it a favourite with many developers.
