The Aircrete Products Association (APA) has produced Aircrete Building Block No 1, the
first in a series designed to keep the building industry aware of the benefits of using Aircrete as a
construction material.
Stringent Building Regulations and pressure from the Government to build energy conserving homes has
made thermal performance more important than ever. Under this pressure to reduce CO2 emissions and construct
buildings that are kinder to the environment, builders are continually on the lookout for materials, and various
applications of those materials, which will meet these criteria.
Aircrete is the ideal combination of a structural material with excellent thermal insulation and one of
the big advantages of using Aircrete is that significantly less additional insulation is required. It can also
help reduce temperature highs and lows within a dwelling and maintain a more consistent and comfortable living environment.
While all these benefits help reduce the impact on the environment, the homeowner also reaps the rewards.
Aircrete's ability to help maintain a consistent dwelling temperature will save homeowners money on heating and cooling bills.
For further information on the thermal performance of Aircrete, Building Block No 1, along with the rest of
the Building Block series, can be downloaded from the APA website; www.aircrete.co.uk
The APA is a manufacturer organisation whose members include the major producers of Aircrete products in the
UK - H+H Celcon, Quinn-Lite, Thermalite and Tarmac Topblock. It is a non-profit making organisation, dedicated
to promoting the benefits of Aircrete building products and supporting the use and specification of this versatile
and proven material.
