With higher density developments and changing population demographics, sound
transmission between buildings is an increasing problem.
To address this issue the APA has made Part E the focus of Factsheet 8, which is now available
to download.
Factsheet 8 outlines the main considerations of the latest requirements of Part E building regulations as
well methods of compliance, including why using Robust Details is a sound alternative to site testing for new
build houses.
Ian Exall, Chairman of the APA, commented: "The technical benefits of Aircrete have long been recognised
and now Aircrete blocks have Robust Detail recognition, builders and specifiers can easily meet the strict
requirements of Part E for a variety of developments, including flats.
"We believe Factsheet 8 will be a valuable reference for the industry as it provides the latest Part E considerations
as well up-to-date information on compliance, including Aircrete constructions with approved Robust Detail."
