An innovative building material, Aircrete combines excellent acoustic,
fire, structural and thermal performance qualities and it is ideal for use on external walls,
partition walls and separating party walls. It is also a reassurance that its solid structure
provides a long-term durability other forms of construction find difficult to match.
An extremely appealing method of construction, Aircrete is a versatile and cost efficient
building material that contains inherent thermal and sound insulating properties. Non-combustible,
it easily satisfies the requirements of the Building Regulations and it is therefore a simple and
economical means of protecting a house against the risk of fire.
Due to the closed cell structure of an aircrete block, which contains millions of tiny air pockets,
the passage of moisture into the inside of the building is strongly resisted. With no other materials
involved, any fears over the rotting of the sole plate that connects the foundations with the load
bearing walls are removed, as are any worries about the damage effect of interstitial condensation
and insect infestation.
A beam and Aircrete block floor will not warp, twist or shrink and as Aircrete offers remarkable
protection against the effects of frost, they perform exceptionally well at foundation level.
Once a house has been occupied for some time, the owners may well decide to extend or alter its
structure and appearance. It is therefore a straightforward exercise to make any changes to a
house constructed from aircrete, such is its inherent versatility. There is no need to rely on
any special construction techniques or products, and openings can be created in existing walls
with the confidence that it will not affect the structural integrity of the whole house.
