You perhaps wouldn't normally associate Aircrete blocks with
ornate garden decorations, however, Bollingbroke Design have ingeniously transformed standard
Aircrete blocks into this amazing water feature.
The blocks were chosen to create this elegant and decorative 'Greek-style' fountain due to the
ease with which they could be cut and carved. The designer was influenced by a myriad of cultures
and so it was christened the "Garden of the World".
To achieve the fountain's weathered appearance it was aged using textured stone paint mixed with
sand.
Further decorative items were fixed using a hot glue gun and mortar pointing. As the blocks
are resistant to frost and rain the fountain can be used throughout the year.

Aircrete lay the foundations for Chelsea's success
| |

Aircrete blocks laid the foundations to a stunning garden recently. The "Primitive Garden" was
specially created for the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show, and whilst the surface was as an
attractive scene of vibrancy and colour, underneath the Aircrete blocks were doing the hard work,
providing firm and solid support.
Due to the temporary nature of the show, the garden was erected and dismantled extremely quickly.
Consequently the foundations had to be built from materials which saved on time and labour. With one
Aircrete block covering the same area as 12 standard bricks they offer one of the quickest forms of
construction. They are light, easy to handle, and they present great flexibility and convenience.

The garden's Celtic theme brought together a colourful mixture of domestic and exotic plants to
illuminate the dark textures of the stone walls and paths. A giant boulder sat imposingly in the
middle of the garden as a stream cascaded down into a well. Ultimately the garden brought a touch
of rural rustic calm to the hustle and bustle of central London.
