The Aircrete Products Association - APA, in conjunction with the Brick Development Association and Concrete Block Association, have produced a Technical Note detailing the design requirements under the revised Building Regulations for resistance to accidental damage. Whilst the changes are not quite as far reaching as they initially appeared to be, they do have specific implications for the design of traditional buildings.

These changes relate to Approved Document A (A3) and relate specifically to the design of buildings of four storeys and less in height, which had previously been exempt from the Regulations.
